A question
was asked to David Feinberg at the Department of Welfare
What changes
will there be in capitation rates to Pennsylvania's Medicaid
HMO's?
As
part of the answer Managed care organizations (Medicaid
HMO's) will now be permitted to charge the current co-pays that
the fee-for service Medical Assistance program charges to patients.
The Managed care organizations will also be receiving at least
a 2% increase in their capitation fees.
With the State also telling patients that they cannot be refused
if they do not have the resources to pay the co-pay It
looks like Pharmacy will be paying for the above increases.
If you have not contacted your legislators as yet, we suggest
you get yourself into their offices as soon as possible. This
could be devastating.
