During the next few weeks you may be hearing from the Phoenix Group, a Group Purchasing Organization trying to get a foot hold in Pennsylvania. We have looked into their program and find that our program with our wholesalers are as competitive or better for compliant members as they will offer.
As Phoenix has recently moved away from McKesson to AmerisourceBergan (with whom we also contract) - I want to show you that there is no benefit to their program compared to our offering.
- Mandates 100% Compliance with THEIR Vendors, especially with their wholesaler. That means all purchases, not 50-60%, but at least 90% of Branded, Generic, & OTC. (Cherry picking not allowed).
- $5,000 Sign Up Fee
- Must sign a confidentiality Agreement not to disclose your terms (like anyone can keep a secret in Pharmacy).
Their program shows the following:
- All new generics, receive two bottles free. - not verified.
- A 17% rebate on generics - As ABC has multiple generic pricing programs - 17% OFF what? Compare to our bottom line after rebates....
- A free Kirby Lester counting machine with sign-up -- ABC has been stuck with these and has been trying to get rid of them for a year. New accounts eligible while supply lasts.
Now for the Smoke and Mirrors -- They are offering the following Net Price after rebates as follows:

WITH KEYSTONE'S PRESENT CONTRACTS WITH ABC, CARDINAL, AND KINRAY -- OUR COMPLAINT STORES ARE ALREADY RECEIVING THIS PRICING AND IN MANY CASES, EVEN BETTER.
AS STATED IN LAST EDITORIAL -- IF YOU WANT THE BEST PRICING YOU MUST BE COMPLIANT.

Now let us discuss what they are leaving out:
