About Keystone Pharmacy Purchasing Alliance, Inc.

The Keystone Pharmacy Purchasing Alliance, Inc. (KPPA) is a Group Purchasing Organization (GPO), and was formed solely for the benefit of Independent Pharmacy. Keystone's primary purpose is to offer its members the lowest prices available from wholesalers and manufacturers (both generic and name brand), as well as on all types of supplies, goods and services. For an initial one-time enrollment fee, members pharmacies are guaranteed to receive their share of all performance incentive dollars on a quarterly basis, in addition to low contract pricing, and special terms and conditions formerly available only to large groups. Member stores receive market share incentives and a share of Keystone's profits according to participation.

The Keystone Pharmacy Purchasing Alliance is a wholly owned subsidiary of PARD.

The- PARD, an Association of Community Pharmacies, was chartered in the year 1898 and represents Community Pharmacy Owners in the five-county Philadelphia area, as well as Pharmacy Owners in the Northeast sector of the State, and works along with the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association (PPA) throughout Pennsylvania.

  • PARD offers members and their employees' group health plans through The Administrators.

  • PARD fought for you on HB 888 (Pace/PaceNet) to remove mail order provisions originally included, and is insisting on drug costs to be updated in a more timely manner, rather than every thirty days, as originally worded. Drug costs are presently updated on a weekly basis.

OUR MISSION

"TO NEGOTIATE PRICING FOR MERCHANDISE, SUPPLIES AND SERVICES AT A PRICE BETTER THAN A STORE COULD OBTAIN ON THEIR OWN."

OUR RESULTS IN 2008

We are pleased to report that we were able to disburse over 2.3 million dollars to our participating members through our quarterly checks in 2008. This figure does not include "credit slips" sent to our stores by our vendors such as Amerisource Bergen ($2M), ANDA/VIP($600,000) etc (over $6,000,000 total) and it does not include Keystone negotiated lower invoice pricing. This number has increased each year, and we are looking forward to more in 2009.
