Ask Your State Representative to Vote “Yes” on HB 1595

Tomorrow the Pennsylvania House Health Committee plans to vote on House Bill 1595, which is a vital piece of legislation in our efforts to fight the Department of Human Services proposal to cut pharmacy Medicaid reimbursement.

With your state representative serving on the House Health Committee, you have the unique opportunity to help in advocating for this legislation’s passage. Can you call and ask Representative White to vote yes on House Bill 1595?

Hello, my name is ______________ and, as a constituent, I’m calling to ask that Representative _______ vote yes on House Bill 1595 when it comes before the House Health Committee for a vote on Wednesday, June 28th.

The Department of Human Services is currently proposing to cut pharmacy Medicaid reimbursement and House Bill 1595 will help to counter this proposal by establishing a $10.49 professional dispensing fee in the Medicaid program while reimbursing pharmacies for ingredient cost based on the National Average Drug Acquisition Cost.

This legislation would align pharmacy payment with surrounding states and help to correct the errors made in DHS’s current proposal, which would pay Pennsylvania pharmacies less than any other state.

If acted upon, DHS’s proposal would be detrimental to patients throughout the commonwealth and could force many local community pharmacies out of business. This is why House Bill 1595 is so important.

Can I count on Representative_______ to vote yes on House Bill 1595 when it comes before the House Health Committee for a vote?
